Bounded Nonvanishing Functions and Bateman Functions

We consider the family B̃ of bounded nonvanishing analytic functions f(z) = a0 + a1 z + a2 z 2 + · · · in the unit disk. The coefficient problem had been extensively investigated (see e. g. [2], [13], [14], [16], [17], [18], [20]), and it is known that |an| ≤ 2 e for n = 1, 2, 3, and 4. That this inequality may hold for n ∈ IN, is known as the Krzyż conjecture. It turns out that for f ∈ B̃ with a...

Bounded Analytic Functions

If D is a domain in the complex s-plane, then the family B=B(D) of bounded analytic functions in D is defined as consisting of those analytic functions ƒ(z) which are regular and single-valued in D and which satisfy the inequality \f(z) | < 1 at all points of D. The classical investigations of the family B(D) were restricted to the case in which D is a simply-connected domain. In fact, D was ge...

On Bounded Analytic Functions

The objective of this paper is to give an alternative derivation of results on bounded analytic functions recently obtained by Ahlfors [l] and Garabedian [2].1 While it is admitted that the main idea to be used is more in the nature of a lucky guess than of a method, it will be found that the gain in brevity and simplicity of the argument is considerable. As a by-product, we shall also obtain a...

Computable Analysis and Blaschke Products

We show that if a Blaschke product defines a computable function, then it has a computable sequence of zeros in which the number of times each zero is repeated is its multiplicity. We then show that the converse is not true. We finally show that every computable, radial, interpolating sequence yields a computable Blaschke product.

Nonvanishing Univalent Functions*

The class S of functions g(z) = z + c 2 z 2 + c 3 z 3 + ... analytic and univalent in the unit disk Izr < 1 has been thoroughly studied, and its properties are well known. Our purpose is to investigate another class of functions which, by contrast, seems to have been rather neglected. This is the class S o of functions f ( z ) = 1 + a 1 z + a 2 z Z + . . , analytic, univalent, and nonvanishing ...
